Zoo Med's ReptiCare infrared heat projector produces the same infrared A and B wavelengths as the sun. These deeply penetrating wavelengths are energy-rich and penetrate into the animal's body. They warm the animal to the core and help with thermoregulation, digestion, egg development and molting.

Your pet, the terrarium furnishings and the bedding absorb these energy-rich IRa and IRb wavelengths. The objects radiate heat back into the terrarium by convection (IRc). This warms the animals' bellies and the air above the bottom substrate and the terrarium equipment. This causes the temperature in the terrarium to rise.
